Day tour no 2.
Initially I had booked my two tours for thursday and saturday but the weather forecast had been saying for a week that saturday it would be raining. And the closer we got the worse the forecast became. So finally I checked with Spirit of Ireland and fortunaly they were flexible enough to switch. So today james came to get me again in the morning and this time we went south of Galway. We stopped at a lot of ruins (as you will see on the pics). There were some really picturesque ones and we found one graveyard with a round tower and a church-ruin that was just a wonderful secret place. James hadn’t know it either but had been told about it when he asked for directions to another place I had on my to-do-list. Again the day flew by… but it was a lot of fun exploring the area. And it was totally different from yesterday. There is an area called ‚The Burren‘ that is being called nice in all guide books but to me it was just grey stones. Actually I found it boring… the Cliffs of Moher were what I had imagined them. If you look at the pics you will see people on top so that might give you an idea how high they are. I had been hoping to see puffins there but knew that the probability would be low. I asked a ranger about them and he pointed me to a place where I could try but even then he said that the probability would be low. I have to check the pictures on my PC at home with the bigger monitor to see if there are any on the pics. Here are pics from today… you will see that the weather was not as nice as yesterday but at least it didn’t rain that much.
