Ruhrgebiet – part 3
From Zeche Zollverein we drove back over to Duisburg to ‚ Tiger and Turtle‘. Those are walk-able stairs in the form of a rollercoaster. Depending from where you see it it as different shapes. While I could detect the turtle from some angles the tiger is still a mystery to me… 😉 We had planned to go there for blue hour/when it got dark and we were perfectly on time. Again lots of people up there to take pics. Which in a lot of cases ruined our pics – but nothing we could do about that. We can’t chase people away, can we? 😉 We stayed up there for another two hours and were a bit frozen when we got back to the car.
Last stop that day was the Landschaftspark Duisburg. Which partly is similar to Zeche Zollverein but it is illuminated in different colours at night. When we parked we could already hear loud drums and it turned out that a band was taking a music video that night. I have not the slightest idea which band that was but we saw them with animal-masks in the end (Anubis-masks?). Once we had had our photosession there I was hurting all over as we had been on the road for 12 hours and I had taken my heavy backpack everywhere.
The next morning we went to breakfast again and then our last stop was the ‚Medienhafen‘ (media harbour) in Düsseldorf. We had in mind to take pics of those ‚human like sculptures‘ running up buildings only to find out that they had been removed in 2018 because they had become a security hazard. Ooooops… 😉 After that Katrin brought me home and then drove back home herself. I can only say that I am more than glad that we did that tour. The area is not too far away from where I live but I hadn’t known that there are so many nice spots to visit. We will be back as we couldn’t tick off all the things on our list…
