SA-Botswana – day 5
That day I skipped the morning game drive. I didn’t feel like getting up at 5:30 AM again so I stayed in bed, got up later and packed my stuff as we had to leave after breakfast. When the group came back from the game drive I heard that I had missed a brief encounter with lions. Didn’t bother me too much though. While we waited for breakfast we saw some nice birds and elephants at the water hole from the viewing deck next to the pool. After breakfast we packed our van and were off to drive the entire day to Polokwane where we slept one night on our way to Botswana. I add some pics so you get an impression of how South Africa is. You see a lot of people along the road. Some are waving flags when there is a construction site (there are LOTS of them), some are colleting trash, some are cleaning the streets with a broom etc. Nearly all work (even construction) is mostly done manually. I don’t say that all of them work (ratio working to just standing by is not a good one 😉 ) but there are a lot of people in orange and/or yellow clothes.
We stopped at a nice cafe for lunch and we just wanted to eat something small. Small does not seem to exist in South Africa. 😉 The carot cake must have been a quarter of the cake. It was good but too much. When we arrived at our hotel in Polokwane we got ready to go to a shopping mall to get some water and then we went for dinner in a restaurant that was really nice. Then sleep as we had to get up rather early again for the last leg of the drive to Botswana.
