Lofoten Day 5
When I woke up that morning I was very tired and thought that it might be a good idea to take a break since I still had several days to go with the workshop and I didn’t want to overdo it. During breakfast we talked about the plans for the day and it was a late start. So I decided to go after all. After breakfast back to bed to sleep some more and I was ready to go later. 🙂 We stopped for a mirror-fotostop on a lake with some mountains and then headed for a late lunch/early dinner at Leknes. From there we drove over to Uttakleiv which has a really nice beach. On the way we checked out Haukland beach driving by because we considered it as a second stop for northern lights – if we had a clear sky and they showed up.
At Uttakleiv there were a lot of photographers who went into other people’s pictures and walked through the sand (instead of the rocks) which didn’t help pictures of other people of course. 😀 It is a bit overcrowded with photographers there – but that’s life…
The sun went down in a nice way even if we didn’t get a spectacular show. But that was OK. We went back to the car and stayed in there a bit waiting for northern lights. And Lady Aurora didn’t disappoint… she showed up when the sky was still blue so we got out of the car and had phantastic two hours. Went back to the car and the sky started to be illuminated again so I took another test-picture and saw lots of red. So I got my tripod back out of the van and took more pics. It was another phantastic colorful show that we got. That evening I even found some blue in my northern lights pictures – second time in my life I saw blue in them. 🙂 When it faded a bit we started towards Haukland but there we might all have been a bit too tired for taking more pics. So we headed back to Svolvaer and were still full of adrenaline because that show had been phantastic…
