Aachen – Aix la Chapelle
I have a jobticket to go to work with public transpo that I don’t really need especially not in times when I work from home anyway. Last week we heard that during the summer school holidays we could travel within NorthRhine Westfalia with our abo-tickets instead of only the immediate region. So when we decided to go geocaching on sunday (yesterday) we specifically chose a place where we can’t usually go without an additional ticket: Aachen (Aix la Chapelle). I had been there only once 16 years ago with friends from Italy and I didn’t remember the city very well any more. So we took the train to Aachen at lunch time and once arrived we started geocaching. But I was glad that I had brought my camera because further to having good foto-light I think that Aachen is quite a nice city. I don’t know how many times we an around the cathedral for geocaches. Towards the end of our visit we entered and I paid the 1 Euro-fee for taking pictures. It was well worth that little money.
We walked around for nearly 6 hours but treated ourselves to a nice ice cream (usually spaghetti-ice when we go caching – kind of a tradition for us 😀 ). Went home really tired but happy with the afternoon…
