Tromso – day 2
Since we had come back a bit late we tried to sleep in… after being ready to head out we went to a small cafe where Katrin wanted her cappuccino with a whale pic on it but we didn’t get it that day. After having our first coffee we went geocaching and exploring Tromso a bit. Way too soon it started to get dark again and I was feeling the need to rest a bit. After a while we went to the shopping center where we saw wonderful ‚toilet games‘ (golf, basketball… đ ) and other nice things. We bought our share of SMASH!-chocolate (you should try it if you have a chance… it is heavenly) and went back to the hotel to rest a bit before going to eat at Pastafabrikken again and go on another aurora-tour. Since it was very cloudy Rory didn’t have any hope that we would see northern lights. After two hours we were at the border to Finnland aaaaaannnndddddd    — there was GREEEEENNNN!!!!
Unfortunately we had to stop at a parking place on the main road to Finnland and it was difficult to find a dark spot to take some pics (needless to say that the scenery was not the very best either). Katrin and I went behind our bus as that was the darkest spot. Unluckily for us we were joined by a tour guide from another company who kept taking pictures of his group with flash. Not good for our pics. I was about to kill him if I heard the sentence ‚One more…‘ one more time – when he finally stopped. But he switched on his headlight. I asked him 5 (FIVE) times to please switch it off but he ignored me. When Katrin shouted a loud ‚asshole‘ in german at him he finally understood and walked back to his bus with his group. After they left they drove by once more with the lights being way too strong and hopefully they have seen Katrin’s middle finger. Our guides apologized for the tour guides from the other company but I don’t think that it is their fault that there are assholes all around… here are some pics…
