Sorkjosen day 1 on the water
To be honest, the first day we had on the water was already one of the best we had during our week. Not only in terms of orca sightings but the sky with it’s wonderful colours too. That is one of the reasons why I keep going back to northern countries to freeze my but off… the light in the sky is beautiful. And if there are whales that is just an additional bonus. We saw several orcas stay in line – we could see the back fins next to each other and they were not moving. Hadn’t seen that before. There was a bit of spyhopping that day too. No humpbacks though. It was a great day and I think it was actually the ONLY day that I saw the sun. After we came back and I had defrozen (I was so damn cold that I really needed the floor heating in my bathroom – which was not working 🙁 ). After an early dinner I went out again to chase nothern lights and really got lucky… the lady was dancing for us. Unfortunately there is an illuminated street at the bottom of the mountain and the lights ruin a lot of pics. 🙁
