Iceland 26 – day 10

When we were at breakfast the next morning I saw an email from our hotel for three days later telling us that there had been a big thunderstorm which had damaged their electronics and they were sorry to inform us that they were not able to accomodate us. We had known about a major thunderstorm in the area a few days earlier so we believed them. Since my friend knows Iceland pretty well she already had an idea where we could book instead and we actually found availabilities at the cabins she had in mind. After breakfast we started towards Selfoss. The drive was a bit difficult again as the road had not been cleared in our direction. After 10 days on the road I was already very tired. That day we were splitting up for 2 days as my friend wanted to visit a friend and I had decided to spent these days in Selfoss. On the way down there we stopped at the mall in Vik again. It was mostly a driving day. In Selfoss we went in a bakkeri and my Nutella bollan was good. But difficult to eat because the chocolate on top is a bit hard. 😀 Then I went to my hotel. I had booked a room with view to the river. A view that I really enjoyed. No aurora that evening…
