Auckland 3
Again I had sunny weather in the morning and I walked to the harbour in the city center. I really liked the area. Queens Road is the main shopping road with malls. On the way down there I did some geocaching again as it is a wonderful way to find places that otherwise you would never find. I love the harbor area too. That day most of the rest of the group had arrived so we met up in the evening for dinner to get to know each other. I already knew the tour leader and his wife because we had met at least 15 years ago but I didn’t know the rest. The group was 6 persons and one was still missing that evening because he was in Rotorua to explore other areas in New Zealand.
It was actually funny. We met at one of the oldest pubs of Auckland but it was not really a dinner option. So we checked Google maps and found a better option. What was interesting was that Google maps sent us there via Sky City – big complex around the Sky Tower. We went to Sky city but nobody could tell us how to get to that restaurant. 😀 We took the elevator up because there was some kind of bridge across the street there but again – not even security was able to tell us how to get to this restaurant. In the end we just tried a different approach – just go down the street and enter the restaurant from street level. 😀 It was not cheap but very good. When we left the restaurant we all took pics of the Sky Tower because the full moon was next to it and it was a nice view. 🙂
