Madeira 7
The next day the rest of the group left around lunch time and I changed the hotel because I needed to be closer to the city center. I had chosen that hotel mostly because it had such a beautiful rooftop bar that has a view over Funchal. From there I could see how many cruise ships were in town. 😉 I talked to the taxi driver who brought me from one hotel to the other if he would do day tours as well. It was one of the things I still wanted to do and since I had heard of prices for that I knew it was not that expensive. And I prefered that to going on a bus tour. He confirmed that he does and we agreed on going on a day tour two days later. So I spent that afternoon and the next day to walk around Funchal a bit. The first day I went in search for an open pharmacy because my cold had gotten really bad but pharmacies were all closed as it was saturday afternoon. But finally I found a supermarket that had some medication so I got what I needed. On one of the pics you can see a status of a soccer player. Cristian Ronaldo was born on Madeira and there is a CR-museum in Funchal. The statues don’t really look like him that much though. 😀
