September trip Norway Bodo day 2

This morning I tried to sleep in since the weather forecast said it would rain until 10 so I didn’t get up early. The forecast lied because at noon it was still raining. But not as hard as all morning. When I went to breakfast I had one those moments… I wanted to get my second cup of coffee and still half asleep but suddenly the coffee maker had disappeared. I thought I was crazy because I had seen (and used it) before but there was nothing. Turned out that it wasn’t working and someone had closed doors in front of it. So I was not crazy after all. 😀
Shortly before noon I met up for a short meeting with my Aurora-buddy from Greenland who lives close to Bodo. Was good to see him even if it was a very short meeting. And it was surprising that when I told him about the phantastic northern lights in Tromso last November his face became painful. Last winter they didn’t see much northern lights – because it was always too cloudy. Really weird…. Tromso and Bodo are not that far from each other….
Then my bus came and I went on a tour to Saltstraumen. A river with very strong currents that are created by tides. First we went on a tour through Bodo – after having gone to take up passengers from a cruise ship. The tour was supposed to be 2.5 hours but the first hour was getting the passengers and then do the tour of Bodo. It was a good trip because we had interesting light situations that I would have taken advantage of with my camera but from a bus with windows reflecting a lot of stuff (like the driver’s white shirt) that is difficult. At Saltstraumen we stopped for 30 minutes but that was not really enough. But we had to hurry back so that the cruise ship didn’t leave without the passengers. When I arrived back in Bodo it was amazing that suddenly the sun was out. So I walked back to my hotel taking some additional pics. Then dinner – now packing again and tomorrow morning I am off to the Lofoten. Flight will only be 25 minutes. Interestingly when I got my boarding pass it said I had no checked in luggage. Which was weird but I paid for one suitcase in order to avoid hassle at the airport. Now I might have some hassle after all because my travel agent told me that in his system I have paid for a 3rd suitcase. But I will ask them tomorrow why their system told me I had none. I have proof that I don’t have 3 suitcases… 😉 Below impressions from today but pics are in the wrong order (last to first and mixed up some too).
