Day 6 – Ice camp

Day 6 – Ice camp

13/10/2019 Aus Von andiline

This was our only full day at the Ice camp. The original plan had been to stay there until we had to go back to the airport to fly home but the weather forecast was not good so we didn’t know if we would have a chance to go to Kulusuk on saturday. So the new plan was to leave friday and stay in Kulusuk till we flew home. Which turned out to be a good plan but more of that later…

Some of others went diving in the morning but not everyone as it was the last dive day and they wanted to start having the gear dry out. We others went up the hill to the left of the camp to admire the view from up there. Sven had put out fishing lines and got two salmons the day before. As you can see on the pics that day it was more ‚ice-fishing‘ 😉 Icebergs swam into the lines and no fish that day. I attach some more pics from the camp too that somehow I have only taken with my mobile and not with camera… anyway I DO have pics… 🙂 And at sunset we are regaled with the sun making the icebergs glow. Unfortunately they were too far away. I am sure it would have been a stunning picture from closer. We checked the nightsky for lady aurora that evening but there was nothing – too many clouds.
