Santo under water

Since one of the guys at reception kindly gave me his mobile modem I am able to upload some pics (he allowed me to do that). Before I start with underwater pics I would like to upload a special one. This is in memory of my aunt Marietta whose birthday would have been today. I won’t be able to visit her grave today as it is back home but I went to a cemetery here on Santo yesterday. My aunt died 2.5 years ago and I can honestly say that without her I probably wouldn’t be here in Vanuatu right now. I am just sad that I can’t tell her about it any more.

Today I was supposed to go an a half-day bluehole tour and it was interesting how it turned out. Somehow I knew even before the pick-up time that nobody would show up. So 10 minutes after pick-up time I asked reception to check with the tour company and they said someone was on his way. Another twenty minutes later the driver came and told me that he was somewhere else when he got a call that I was waiting. So obviously they totally forgot about me. Then he was not sure what to do with me. I would have expected that the tours have a schedule. He didn’t and asked me where I wanted to go. Since there are three blue holes here and I went to see two of them yesterday with Lionel he decided to take me to the 3rd. Which was nice because I was paddled upriver in one of the pirogge-boats and then finally arrived at the blue hole. Again it was a wonderful place. On the way back I asked the driver to let me off at the market in Luganville so I could take some pics and then go shopping a bit. But with all of that I was back at the resort at noon. So now I have to see how I am going to spend the afternoon. This is the first day I have a clear blue sky so it is too hot to walk anywhere… guess I will find something to do as I bought a small book of Vanuatu-tales…
